About the app

Welcome to Pet Pawtal, an app dedicated to the health, safety, and well-being of your puppy / dog.

Pet Pawtal is loaded with features to help you to better communicate and maintain the health and safety of your best friend.

From important first aid information, tips on enriching your dog's life, to advice on reading a dog's body language.

Pet Pawtal is full of succinct and easy-to-navigate information that will empower you to be the best dog owner you can be and is the perfect app for any puppy / dog owner which will enhance (and in some cases, maybe even save) your dog’s life in just a few taps.

Ground Surface Temperature Indicator.

One of Pet Pawtal’s most popular features is the Ground Surface Temperature Indicator. Did you know it can take just one minute on a 22-degree Celsius day for your dog’s paw pads to sustain burns if the other environmental factors(humidity/wind conditions) are at their optimum?

The Ground Surface Temperature Indicator on the Pet Pawtal app gives you the best available advice on safe walking conditions by calculating approximate concrete surface temperature based on live meteorological data, factoring in UV radiation, wind conditions and humidity.

Reading a Dog's Body Language

Learning to read your dog’s body language is a must for guardians. Your dog uses their eyes, ears, mouth, tail and body to communicate how they are feeling. They could be trying to express fear, discomfort, anxiousness, happiness or anger. Your ability to interpret your dog’s body language could make the difference between alleviating an uncomfortable situation for them or exacerbating it. This is why it is important to understand what your dog is trying to tell you. It is surprising how often the picture above is misinterpreted.

Enrichment

Providing your dog with daily exercise is very important, as research is showing how the physical and the mental well-being of our companion animals are interconnected. However, the form of enrichment has to be enjoyed by your dog, if the dog does not enjoy the activity it’s not enrichment is it? Providing them with the right type of enrichment for their stage in life is paramount for their physical, social and mental well-being and allowing your dog to stop and smell is vital. Find more enrichment activities in this section for your furry friend.

First Aid

In the event of an emergency it’s important to stay calm.

When safe to do so, assess your dog’s injuries, then provide your dog with the necessary first aid to stabilise them before quickly transporting them to a veterinary clinic or hospital.

Contact your vet when you are in transit so that they can prepare for your arrival.

Well-being

The well-being section covers topics including Vet visits, vaccinations schedules, dental hygiene, weather protection, the importance of using the correct equipment, car safety, bathing and grooming schedules and much more.

Toxic Food and Plants

This section provides a list of toxic foods and plants and signs to look for in the event of consumption by your dog.

If you suspect your dog has ingested any toxic substance, always seek veterinary treatment immediately. If possible take a sample with you to the veterinary hospital.
